Two different payoff shapes
Forex
You trade price changes continuously. A trade can end in a small win or a larger loss, and the exit is flexible: close at any moment, scale out, or trail a stop as the market moves.
Binary options (what Avalisa PO Bot automates on Pocket Option)
You pick a direction and a fixed expiry (the timeframe). At expiry there are only two outcomes: you win the stated payout percentage on your stake, or you lose the full stake. There is no variable-sized win, and the result depends on where the price is at one moment.
Because the payout is a fixed percentage rather than a variable amount, the maths a bot has to manage is different in kind, not just in degree.
Break-even maths: a fixed payout pins the number down
In binary options the share of trades you must win is set exactly by the payout. At payout p (as a decimal, e.g. 0.92):
break-even win rate = 1 / (1 + p)
- 92% payout → about 52.1% just to stand still
- 80% payout → about 55.6%
- 70% payout → about 58.8%
Low payouts make standing still materially harder: a 70% market needs roughly seven more percentage points of correct trades than a 92% one. That is why the Minimum payout % setting changes the maths before a single trade is placed — see why the payout filter matters.
Forex has no fixed-payout break-even at all, because win and loss sizes vary from trade to trade. A break-even table built for fixed payouts simply does not apply to it.
Sizing maths: Martingale only adds up under fixed payouts
Fixed outcomes make stake progressions exactly calculable. Martingale raises the stake after each loss, so every losing streak has a known total cost as a multiple of the base stake. In the Avalisa panel, Steps = N allows N + 1 trades in a losing cycle:
- At 2x: Steps 2 = 7× the base stake, Steps 3 = 15×, Steps 4 = 31×
- At 3x: Steps 1 = 4×, Steps 2 = 13×, Steps 3 = 40×, Steps 4 = 121×
There is no separate stop-loss or daily-loss-limit setting, so the Steps limit and your balance do that job; the bot pauses when the next stake would exceed the balance. Try your own numbers in the Martingale calculator and read Martingale risk explained.
Forex position sizing does not have this structure and does not map onto a fixed-payout doubling table.
Where the same idea does transfer
The discipline of an automated session carries over: one trade at a time, skipping poor-quality markets, stopping when conditions degrade, and recording what happened. What does not carry over is the arithmetic — the break-even percentage, the fixed-payout sizing tables and the all-or-nothing result at expiry.
Practical steps if you are comparing the two
- Name the payoff shape first. Fixed payout at expiry, or variable moves with flexible exits? Everything downstream depends on it.
- Compute your break-even before trading. Use 1/(1+p) with the payout actually on offer, not a remembered number — payouts differ between pairs and timeframes.
- Set the cap before the session. In Martingale the cap is the Steps limit: choose the Steps and a base stake that make a full losing cycle affordable.
- Test on demo first. The maths is the same on demo and real accounts, which is why demo measures the right thing — see how to test a bot on demo.
- Keep the Pocket Option tab visible. A background or minimised tab can delay trade-result detection, and Martingale needs each result read correctly.
Risk statement
Binary options are high risk: every losing trade costs the full stake, and losing streaks compound quickly under Martingale. Our own measurements (September 2026) found no setting that beat break-even over large samples — more in honest win rates and break-even. Trade only money you can afford to lose. Trading involves risk. Avalisa does not guarantee profits. Start on a demo account.
Frequently asked questions
Does a bot tuned for forex work on Pocket Option unchanged?
No. Forex sizing assumes variable win and loss sizes and flexible exits; binary options have fixed payouts and a single expiry. The break-even arithmetic alone is different in kind.
What number should I check before trusting a payout?
The break-even win rate, 1/(1+p): about 52.1% at a 92% payout and about 58.8% at 70%.
Is Martingale more dangerous than it looks?
Cycle costs grow geometrically — at 3x, Steps 3 is 4 trades and costs 40 times the base stake. The Steps limit, not hope, is the real risk control.
Can I use the bot on demo before going real?
Yes. It works on both demo and real Pocket Option accounts, and we recommend starting on demo.
